The Emotion Pre-Conference, now in its second year, is an annual event where social and personality psychologists can learn about recent trends in affective science, discuss ongoing debates in emotion research, and join a community of like-minded scholars in the area.
This year’s event, which is sponsored by the International Society for Research on Emotions (ISRE), Guilford Press, and Cognition and Emotion, features an exciting line-up of symposia, chaired by leading experts in emotion research. Internationally acclaimed affective neuroscientist Richard Davidson will give the keynote address on Wednesday evening, which will be followed by a poster session and cocktail hour. Thursday’s symposia, led by Chairs Joseph Campos, Barbara Fredrickson, Eddie Harmon-Jones, Diane Mackie, David Matsumoto, and Eliot Smith, will cover such topics as emotional development, intergroup emotions, neural processes in affect, culture and emotion, and positive emotions.
