The 2006 inaugural Emotion Pre-Conference will be held on The Emotion Pre-Conference is set to become an annual event for social-personality psychologists who want to learn about recent trends in affective science, discuss ongoing debates in emotion research, or join a community of like-minded scholars in the area. The inaugural event, which is sponsored by the International Society for Research on Emotions and the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia, features an exciting line-up of symposia, chaired by leading experts in the field of emotion research. Robert Levenson will give a keynote address on Wednesday evening, which will be followed by a poster session and cocktail hour. Thursday’s symposia, led by Chairs Ed Diener, Lisa Feldman Barrett, James Gross, Dacher Keltner, Richard Robins, and June Tangney, will cover such topics as subjective well-being, morality, emotion regulation, the self, and the structure of affect.
